Halibut Fishing Ucluelet and Tofino

If it's large halibut your after...the outer banks of Ucluelet are for you. Halibut Fishing in Ucluelet and Tofino was at it's best in 2006. One memorable period of two consectutive drifts we caught successive triple headers of 30 to 60 pound Halibut. That doesn't happen every day but it can, we've proven it!

We fish for Halibut on the La Peruse Bank which lies along the west coast of Vancouver Island offshore from the pristine beaches of Pacific Rim National Park. The season for halibut fishing begins early and remains productive throughout the entire summer. We have some of our best trips in May and combined with the spring salmon fishery and the Gray whale migration our days are tremendous. Book a fishing charter and get free Whale Watching!

The outer banks range from 3 miles to 25 miles, and are abounding with feed. These banks attract all age groups of salmon and halibut that spend all their time gorging themselves on the abundant feed.

The halibut migrate up onto the banks in mid April and average 20 to 40 lbs with a small percentage over 100 lbs. Salmon fishing starts May 1st with many in the high teens and into the twenties. There is also an abundance of bottom Fish in the area like voracious Ling Cod, watch out for those teeth!

The boat is the 24 Searay "Mega-bite", custom built for your West Coast halibut fishing adventure. We offer years of Halibut Fishing experience to get you to and from the outer banks safely. Along with top quality electronics, we also supply top of the line rods and reels. We are also experts in halibut fishing techniques.

Your catch will be cleaned and put into a cooler or freezer. If you wish your fish to be smoked or canned, it can be arranged for you at your cost.
